Along the Grand Canal, right next to the iconic Rialto Bridge, you can find the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, one of the many historic buildings of Venice. Originally, this building was constructed to house a hostel for the city's German merchants and a warehouse for the goods they traded. Today, the building is home of one of the most luxurious department stores on the city. On the rear of the beautiful Violino d'Oro lies the hidden square Corte Barozzi. This is where guests find the restaurant of the hotel: Il Piccolo. Upon entering, it quickly becomes clear where the restaurant gets its name from: this contemporary but very cosy space only offers 7 or 8 tables. Like all of the hotel, Il Piccolo cultivates Venetian style combined with local flavours. It is the ideal spot for a casual but still elegant and intimate dinner while in Venice.
