The Brunelleschi Hotel once again included in the World's Best Hotels by TRAVEL + LEISURE 2022 T + L 500

Apr. 25th, 2022

Travel + Leisure T + L 500 recognises the Brunelleschi Hotel as one of the world’s most exclusive hotels for the second consecutive year . By drawing on the Travel + Leisure 2021 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey results, Travel + Leisure has selected the 500 best hotels around the world by naming them to this year’s T+L 500 list. Very few properties are chosen for their luxurious style, charm, central location, panoramic view, excellent service and gourmet restaurant. Among these, the Brunelleschi Hotel has been included thanks to those unique features that make it truly special: besides its unique location a few steps from the Cathedral, its luxury and its charm, it offers exclusive suites with breathtaking views of Brunelleschi's dome, an intimate 2-star Michelin gourmet restaurant located inside the oldest Byzantine tower in Florence embedded in its façade.

The Brunelleschi Hotel had been already awarded by Travel + Leisure T + L 500 last year after being listed among Florence’s “Top 5” specifically for its unique characteristics: its sophisticated elegance; the particularity of the Byzantine tower embedded in its façade; the 2-Michelin-Star Santa Elisabetta Restaurant; its location in a quiet square a few steps from the Cathedral and above all for the attentive, kind and very helpful staff.

“This prestigious recognition fills us with joy and pride and we thank our Customers first of all for the deep trust and esteem they have been holding us for years. Also, special thanks certainly go to the precious and irreplaceable Brunelleschi Team and to our Owners, who have always believed in our hospitality vision, which is so special and has allowed us to achieve some of the most coveted goals ", says General Manager Stefano Lodi.

Each year, Travel + Leisure (www.travelandleisure.com) readers, America's most famous travel magazine with a readership of about 8.1 million, share their views on destinations, urban hotels, resorts and more through the World's Best Awards poll. Hotels are evaluated by location, type, services, restaurant and overall value. On the basis of the previous year's poll results, the 500 best hotels in the world are included in the annual T + L 500 list. The Travel + Leisure 2022 T+L 500 list will be featured in the May issue of Travel + Leisure and online on www.travelandleisure.com/tl500-2022

Each annual award is a reference point for the numerous readers and the properties featured in the list, divided into eight geographical regions, represent a reliable and indispensable source of information for millions of experienced, demanding, sophisticated travelers, attentive to every little detail, who are inspired and guided by the magazine in organizing their next trip, anywhere and at any time.

Over the years, the Brunelleschi Hotel has received numerous awards including, in May 2020, the "Top Luxury Boutique Hotel in Europe" award by Luxury Travel Advisor, the only Italian hotel to have won at European level, and the "Readers' Choice Award” by Condé Nast Traveler in October 2020, as one of the “Top 10 Hotels in Florence”.

The Brunelleschi Hotel
The doorway opens onto a cozy square in the heart of Florence, a few steps from the Duomo, Palazzo della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery: the hotel is surrounded by the shopping streets and the most famous museums of the city. The building includes a Byzantine tower dating from the 6th century and a medieval church, completely renovated yet respecting its original features. Inside, a private museum displays exhibits found during the tower restoration and a bath of Roman origin, now set in the foundations. The Brunelleschi Hotel is part of the Florentine Historical Businesses. The hotel has been renovated in a very elegant contemporary yet classic style, where soft shades and the gray color of the typical local stone predominate.

The Santa Elisabetta Restaurant is the hotel's fine dining restaurant and one of the finest gastronomic addresses in Florence. Since 2021 it was awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide; in the Gambero Rosso Guide 2022 with the rating of 2 “forks” and in the L'Espresso 2020 with one “hat”. Located in an intimate dining room with only 7 tables on the first floor of the Byzantine tower that is part of the hotel, it boasts an enviable location, a sophisticated atmosphere and a refined cuisine. It is open Tuesday to Saturday,
12.30 pm to 02:30 pm for lunch and 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm for dinner. Since 2017 the menu is signed by Chef Rocco De Santis.

The more informal "Osteria Pagliazza" is located on the ground floor of the hotel and during the summer it also has outdoor tables in the charming square in front of the hotel and offers a delicious menu of dishes based on local ingredients. Adjacent to the Osteria is the Tower Bar offering original and personalized cocktails that can also be tasted in the gourmet restaurant.
